Bodhgaya with Sangam Tour
Arrive Varanasi and transfer to the hotel. later take a tour of Sarnath - About 10 kms from Varanasi, is the place where lord Buddha after enlightenment gave his first sermon or as the Buddhist say set the 'wheel of dharma' or law rolling. Today Sarnath is considered as one of the richest place to have antiques since the Ashoka period to the 12th century. The Dharmarajika stupa was also built by Ashoka and it was surmounted by the pillar. This pillar with four lions today forms the national emblem of India. Sarnath has many more ruins of monasteries and stupas. The spot at which the stupa stands is believed to be the place from where Buddha gave his forts sermon. Sarnath has an extremely rich collection of Buddhist statues. These sculptures are the images of Buddha and Bodhisatva. These images are kept in the Archaeological museum of Sarnath. After breakfast ,later drive to visit Bodhgaya is reckoned as the most important Buddhist pilgrimage center, is the place where Lord Sakyamuni (Gautam Buddha) entered into meditation after being moved by the sufferings of mankind. Later you can visit:-The giant Bodhi Tree (Peepal) that we see today is believed to have grown from the original Bodhi Tree under which, sitting on the raised platform, Prince Siddharth meditated and imally attained Nirvana. Chaukramana - the Jewel Walk, where it is believed that the Buddha strolled while in deep thought. Maha Bodhi temple in Bodhgaya is an architectural amalgamation of many cultures. The temple bears the stamp of the architecture of the Gupta Dynasty and subsequent ages. On the walls of the temple, one sees Buddha carved in different aspects, and in the sanctum sanctorum, a colossal Buddha, is seen touching the ground, which has mythological significance in the Buddhist lores. Shaivite Monastery - It has a cluster of four temples. Surrounded by enchanting greenery and marked by architectural marvels, these temples have several samadhis (commemorative stones) in their vicinity. Just across are a number of cells, meant for residential purposes of monks. Later drive back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.DAY 4- Bodh Gaya – Allahabad (364 km - 7 hours 0 mins)

After breakfast, later visit:- Sangam -Allahabad -This Sangam is one of the most sacred places of Hindus. Situated around 7 km from civil lines, it is the meeting point of three holy rivers - Ganga ,Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. Pandas Places can be seen here perched on small platforms performing puja and assisting the devot in their ritual ablutions in the shallow water. The Sangam becomes a hub of activity after every 12 years when it hosts the Kumbh Mela. Allahabad Fort- The fort built by Akbar has three magnificent galleries with huge towers. The location chosen by Emperor Akbar was revered for both the Hindus and the Buddhists equally. The interiors of the fort have two important monuments of interest. One of which is an ancient temple of Patalpuri. It is said that the epic hero of Ramayana, Ram, once worshipped here. This underground temple has a huge Banyan tree which is believed to be eternal and is called as the Akshay Vat or the immortal Banyan tree. Inside the fort is the most famous ancient structure of the Ashoka Pillar made of polished sandstone it stands more than 10 meters high. It is one of the many which the Mauryan Emperor Ashok built to spread the Buddhist religion and message of peace. Later drive back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.DAY 6- Allahabad – Varanasi (121 km - 2 hours 28 mins)
After breakfast, check-out from hotel and drive to Varanasi. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Later drive to visit:-The Ghats of Varanasi :- In this ancient city of pilgrimage, the bathing ghats are main attraction. People flock here in large numbers every day to take bath and worship in the temples built beside the river bank. Centuries old tradition to offer puja to the rising Sun is still maintained. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple/ Gyanvapi Mosque. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is popularly known as the golden Temple due the Gold plating done on its 15.5 meter high spire. One tonne of gold donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh has been used in the gold plating of the spire. The temple was destroyed in the various invasions and was rebuilt in 1776 by Rani Ahilyabai of Indore. Durga Temple Built in the 8th century, the Durga temple is one of the most important temples in Varanasi. This temple is built in Nagara Style. The shikhara of the temple is formed by many small spires which are built one on top of the other. Bharat Mata Temple This temple is dedicated to Mother India. Just one kilometer from the Varanasi station. The temple is built in the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth which was built by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt. This temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936 so that the citizens could respect Mother India in statue form. The statute is built in marble. The statue is a replica of undivided India in three dimension which has the mountains, plains and oceans in right proportion. Tulsi Manas Temple This temple is dedicated to Lord Rama. The temple is built in the place where Goswami Tulsidas composed the epic 'Ramacharitramanas' which provides us with detailed description. Return back to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.DAY 7- Varanasi
After breakfast, check-out from hotel and later drive to Varanasi Airport to board the flight for onward the journey with fond memories of the trip. Tour Ends... (All distances and timings are approx. )
